![]() To conclude: This product really didn’t do much for me, it failed its own selling point(s), it was a thick application even though it promised a light application, and it’s actually a terrible foundation primer despite saying otherwise. Also if you’re applying liquid foundation right afterwards, remember that feeling of ‘slippery-ness’ I mentioned earlier? Yeah, good luck applying the foundation evenly, I suggest a patting-motion application (<- speaking from actual experience). If you use this sunscreen as primer, even in small amounts the feeling of a thick layer is already there so imagine having to add foundation on top of that. This is going against another one of its ‘selling points’ but if you hate having thick layers on your face, then don’t ever use this as a foundation primer! If you’re using a primer/sunscreen before your foundation, you basically have to apply a super light layer of foundation anyway (unless you really like the thick-layer feel). I really don’t mind it for the back of my hand (because you don’t grip things with the back of your hand lol) or neck/body etc but I’m not a big fan of using this on my face especially if I’m putting on foundation/BB cream afterwards. The product is easy to spread and feels very smooth on its part, but a reflective sheen and feeling of ‘slippery-ness’ will last for more than a few minutes on the skin after you have spread out the sunscreen. The ‘watery’ and ‘aqua’ part don’t mean thin formula, it means thick formula with moisturizer to keep your skin nice which I guess is a little misleading depending on how you interpret it! So just a heads up for this factor. I have even tried to apply it as thinly as possible but the ‘here’s a thick layer’ feel stuck around! To be fair though, I think that’s the moisturization-of-your-skin part kicking in. The product is thick, not runny at all, see how it keeps its shape on my hand? Let me tell you that ‘wonderfully light’ sensation is more like ‘wonderfully thick’. Well, this one, the description of yogurt-like seemed fitting… Well if the relative full-ness of this product didn’t tip you off…I wasn’t a real fan of this product which was actually a surprise for me because I remember on my summer vacation 2 years ago in China I bought another Bioré aqua sunscreen (I don’t exactly remember which one) and I really enjoyed it because it was actually not a thick formula like I thought it was going to be. The SPF 50+ PA++++ is pretty sweet, it talks about Micro Defense Formula which I’m not sure what, maybe it’s talking about tiny particles to prevent uneven application? While the sunscreen is about ‘watery essence’ and ‘aqua rich’ it’s talking about keeping your skin moisturized well, I didn’t detect any offensive smell (but we know my nose), boasts a ‘wonderfully light’ sensation for application and apparently ‘great as a foundation primer’. There’s 50g of product in this tube which can stand on its head (like 80% of the sunscreen tubes can stand on their head, that should be the standard packaging). This is Bioré UV Water Essence Aqua Rich sunscreen from the Japanese brand Kao. ![]() ![]() Part of my OMG-it’s summer in NZ so I have to buy a lot of sunscreen-haul from like 4 months ago. Finally a proper update/review! I know while I’m heading into winter, a lot of you are going to the warmer seasons so I have a sunscreen review for you! ![]()
